I don't own an FFPW, but occured to me that you could swap in an NP435, get a Novak adapter for a married Dana18, install a Warn/Advance Adapters Overdrive and you would be able to split all your gears and have a .73 overdrive. I had the Warn OD in my stock CJ2A a long time ago and it was a must with a 4cyl flathead! The later Dana 18s that were installed with the Buick V6 were quite strong and handled big block V8s. FFPWs that have a small block Chev can use the SM465 and Novak has a conversion as well. You would of course have to chage the lengths of the drive shafts. I was considering this for a Jeepster... you would have to get a CJ5 (offset) rear axle to do this. The Dana 18 and the NP200 both have the front and rear outputs to the right side, so this is what got me thinking. They might even make an adapter for an NP420. Has anyone tried this?
