The standard mopar heater boxes that mount under the passenger side of the day have a regular fan, not a squirrel cage blower, in back of them. Maybe you can find a junk heater that still has a good fan motor, and swap it into some modern dash-mounted defroster fan housing like school buses used to have. It wouldn't be too much work if you could scrounge up the parts for little money. The heater fans don't have any guard around them (as I learned the painful way when I reached around back of the heater while it was running) so you'd need the "modern" fan housing for a guard.
