The thing I love about WIKI is that every damn fool can post wrong information on there.
B-17 and B-25 bombers both used water systems to get off the ground. Injection is a near misnomer as the water was misted into the intake manifold, not injected into the combustion chamber.

I have a water system on my 68 Fury III 318, and it solves the problem of the engine's desire for realgasoline as opposed to the crap sold as gasoline today. It's as simple as a mason jar and an acquarium valve to adjust the bubble rate of air being sucked thru the solution. Puer water can be used as long as freezing isn't a problem, alcohol is only an antifreeze in this aplication.

Adding propane to a running diesel will deliver additional ponys, but at great expense. Some white shoed salesman sold plenty of those devices to the Post Office, and the PO destroyed a lot of engines with it. Why the hell would a driver downshift if he could just hit the boost button and get up the hill?

As the piston cooks off the aluminum vapor becomes an additional fuel in the combustion chamber. That becomes some serious temperature against an iron cylinder wall.
