My VC 3 came with a stuck 230 in it.

The reason it was solid was someone had fitted a winch plus PTO, and later taken the winch off. The PTO drive had turned and locked up against the chassis... Not sure if a WC could suffer from the same.

If it all looks in reasonable order I might risk putting it in high range direct (fourth) and trying to turn the driveshaft between transmission and transfer with a big wrench (cautiously, of course) That freed up the engine in the VC 3 no problem and it has run since. I've not investigated it further as I've bought an original T202 code engine for it and will be spending the resources on that instead.
