Thanks for repeating some familiar facts for those that don't know or have forgotten.
Personally, I recently made a 700 mile weekend run, dragging a heavy new toy behind my '01 CTD. The fuel average for the trip was right on 16 mpg. That same trip, pulling the same load with a gasser would never have gotten out of single digits. It holds its speed under load with cruise better than anything I have ever owned. Then last--I just like the sound of that old diesel "doin' its thang".
