I will tell you a short true story.

Back in 1990's I used to own a 1993 w250 360 (gasser), and a 1995 Ram 2500 V-10, those where my two tow vehicles of choice. I pulled around a 18 foot trailer.

In 1998 I took a trip with the V-10 truck and the 18 foot trailer. I brought home one power wagon, and A LOT of other parts. I saw a lot of other stuff & PW's I wanted but didn't have enough room. Total gas money on the trip was $1185.00

The day I got home I put my gassers up for sale, and ordered new 1999 ram 3500 CTD and I also bought a 40' gooseneck trailer so I could go back and get more treasures! Well I took the exact same trip same route, to get all the other PW's and parts I saw on the first trip. So I came home with two Power Wagons and three times as many parts. Total fuel costs for the same trip $550.00 less then half the money, and got to bring home twice the stuff!!

As much as I hate to see fuel at todays price, it would take a lot higher prices before I would go back to gas for towing. Not only that but who knows how many times I would have had to rebuilt the gas engines?? My current CTD truck has almost 400k on it and is still running strong!! So I will stick with diesel for towing.

Matt
