AX-15 tranny ? Good for ???

The Aisan-Warner AX-15 came in Jeep midsize with 4.0&4.2 straight six engines. All-synchro 5 speed, 4:1 low, and .79 OD in 5th.

Says OK for small blocks.

A buddy's '77 CJ 304 w/ 3 speed needs tranny work, I suggested an upgrade, seems doable, needs $118 Novak adapter and Dana 300 transfer case.

Which got me thinking about FFPWs?
