I blew a U-joint on a Tucker last winter and thought it'd be no problem to find a replacement. I figured they'd be the same as used on 2WD dodges from the '50s, but I looked in the PIF and there weren't even any the same size, much less with the serrated corners on the caps. After chasing all over town and calling lots of people, I can't find one. All the U-joints on both Tuckers are this kind so it's not a matter of somebody having swapped in an odd one. The trick is that the caps have knurled or serrated corners. They almost look like little gear teeth cut at 45 degrees to the sides of the cap. They're held in by bolted-on plates that have two serrated tabs that engage the edges of the caps. The caps are 1.145" dia (1-5/32"?) and the U joints measure 3.190" (1-3/16"?) across the caps. The parts guy at Tucker said that back in the '50s they used International as well as Dodge parts, but couldn't give me any OEM part number for the U-joint.

Have you seen any U-joint with serrated/knurled corners on the caps? Any idea where to get them?
