Okay, we don't disagree so much after all. One thing to keep in mind with nuclear energy is that even if we don't give a hoot about the environment, the ore is all very low grade, and mining, concentrating, transporting, and refining it takes a huge amount of energy, most of which is in the form of diesel oil. Yes, we could theoretically build hydrogen powered heavy equipment and make the hydrogen using nuclear power, but I wonder if that would even break even in terms of energy. Fusion, as they say, is the energy source of the future and always will be.
