You laugh, but I recently read just about the same warnings on a board. It was just a plain cedar board about 1/4" thick by 8" wide by 12" long, but it was wrapped up in plastic and sold in a grocery store for grilling fish on. There was a long paragraph of legalese, which I wish I could quote but my memory's not that good, the gist of it being that the board could catch fire and if it did it could emit productions of combustion that were "known to the State of California to cause cancer or reproductive damage". There was also some stuff about how you could get burned by it. All it was was a piece of wood. It wasn't even plywood. No chemicals were added to it. Nevertheless, it had warnings on it like it was a bottle of arsenic or something.
