I have been hauling cross-country with a pintle for about 10 years now. Zero trouble at any speed I choose. I know several others who have used a pintle with the same results. Very handy for hook-ups as well. If it were possible for me to have a gooseneck, I'd go that way, as weight distribution and close-quarter manuvering is much better. But with the topper I have, I guess I'll stay with my current set-up.
