The key was a real bear to get out, I used a small cold chisel about the same width as the key and tried to catch it under the key at the end of the shaft. After few tries it broke loose but still had to be worked out.
My problem was with the other end of the shaft where the ujoint yoke and shaft pin had sheared. Still working on some options. Good luck with yours.
