I owe a Texas sized thank you to ALL of the folks at the Alpine Rally. Everyone went out of their way to make sure this wayward Yankee had a great time while in Texas. They were completely successful as I really had the time of my life. It was great to see folks I already knew, Mac, Paul Cook, the Sawyer clan, to meet folks I knew from the Forum, AAA, Dwight, and to meet lots of new folks, Lloyd and his family, Will, Terry, John and Benny, Tommy, Aaron (w300), and no doubt I am forgetting someone, if so I apologize.
The Rally after getting off to a rocky start due to a change of venue, was on a great ranch. We camped down at the bottom of a canyon, with lots of great trails of various degrees of difficulty. There were awesome views, great food, great rides, great company, etc. etc. etc.
Spent Tuesday banging around Fort Worth with Mac and Dwight then Dinner with Dwight, Kim and Mac. Had Chicken Fried Steak and lots of Lone Star beer, it dosent get any better than that!
Had to get up at 4:15 AM yesterday to catch my flight home, that was a bit of a drag but no matter what time I would have had to leave would have been a drag.
So, Thanks Mac for convincing me to come down, it was a great time!
