How much air pressure? 35psi ought to be plenty, let them flex a bit.

Also, your spring leafs are probably rusted together into solid blocks of iron. I improved mine immensely, cheaply, by lubing them. Disconnect whatever shox it has. Support one end at a time by the frame/bumper, so the axles are hanging from the springs, and use a stiff brush to work in some 90 wt gear oil. lean on each wheel in turn, get the axle to bounce. Do it all you can. Work in more oil, bounce more. Do the other end. Drive it on rough ground, over dips and speed bumps. Re-attach the shox when driving it makes you sea sick.

Then, put on some radial tires.

Noise wise, I'll bet your cab mount rubbers have settled so far that the cab is sitting on the frame. The cab then acts as a megaphone turning all the little noises into metalica concerts. Replace the rubber, or at least shim it up with some big fender washers. There ought to be 1/4 inch min between frame and cab underneath.
