Okay, will try them. I would give some good tamarack a try for bed wood, but for side boards it needs something tougher because things will hit it hard and the supports are far apart. I'll probably need 12' clear in 5/4 to make side boards. Hopefully I can get S2S. I'd hate to pay retail S4S hardwood prices for 12 footers. That would be something like $20 per stick! I do envy the guys back east that can just go to the local mill, pull a few select sticks, and finish to final size at home. If shipping wasn't so expensive, I'd sure like to send 1000 ft of cedar east in trade for 1000 ft of white oak.
