Dennis. You can get white oak. You just have to buy it through a cabinet shop or a hardwood flooring installer. Most of their suppliers won't sell to anyone else. Kelly-Goodwin or Lumber Products in Spokane can get it. I can get it for you through one of my subs. if you don't have another source. Let me know.
Anyone wood should be sealed all sides and edges and after cutting the ends. JH
