My solution for my friends 55 Dodge Royal, was to purchase 2 optima 6v batteries. These batteries are sealed, leak proof, and hold charge for months. When a jump was needed he would just swap out the battery and charge the dead one up with the 6v trickle charger when he got home. If in a hurry you can turn the optima upside down and place + to + and Neg. to Neg.

If you have two dead 6v batteries you can safely jump the two 6v volt batteries with one 12v..
Simply place the 6v batteries in series with a short jumper, then connect the 12v bat. using the jumper cables from one 6v's positive terminal and the second bat. 6v's neg. terminal.

Let me know if you need a hand, I still need to return your craftsman 1/2 wrench!

Mike
