Craftsman hand tools serve only one purpose. They allow a young guy with little or no experience to get enough tools to begin to maintain his vehicles in life. As his experience grows he will begin to weed out some of the junk and replace them with better quality stuff. Many companies make quality hand tools, most are made by the same companies with different logos, finishes etc, Craftsman ratchets and screw drivers are the worst offenders. A guy will usually keep a worn-out ratchet way to long, after he busts his knuckles way to many times he will realize that simply replacing these with another craftsman does not work. The wrenches they put out these days are much better than the old variety that they made so thick they were almost usless or at least undesirable, part of the learning curve. The sockets usually last too long, I've had some of them for over 50 years. Thier electric hand tool are junk, never, NEVER had a good one yet. Like Steve says, as your experience and ability grows in life ,you will begin to aquire quality stuff and it will serve you the rest of your life. Your kids will inherit that stuff and their respect for you will continue long after your gone. I would add a few quality battle rifles, lots of ammo and reloading tools to their stash also. Oh yeah, there is no reason to buy into the Snap-on hype. There are plenty of quality tool makers out there. Carefully select and purchase quality, good tools don't cost, they pay; and with the savings you can buy those rifles.
