No No No... if you intend to use the winch...galvanized cable has a brittle surface, it will fatigue faster and wear by friction as stated elsewhere in this post. Stainless looks good but again lacks flexibilty and stamina for long term use. The best by far is FCWR ( fibre core wire rope ) also known as hemp core, it requires a lubricant such as light machine oil, or rope oil, but is the most flexible and will recover or re-form from minor damage. note this type rope is required by law on wrecker and tow truck use in most states because it is the best suited for recovery work. The next choice is IWRC or independent wire rope center, it is slightly less flexible but has a higher breaking and working strength per size than FCWR. In turn it needs some lubrication, but will not recover as easily from damage like FCWR. I have used both FCWR and IWRC ropes through the last 30 years and still prefer the fibre core rope over anything else, remember, the main key to safety is how you set up and rig the pull! Thus, you can safely use a small line to do a big pull as long as you rig it properly! Bigger rope is not always better!!
