Hey All.
Recently decided to look into putting some different seats in my 404 hardcab. Got some good input from here and from benzworld forum.
Found some seats on local craigslist that were from a mid 90's Saab.Black, in good shape, missing the runners.
Picked them up for $20 a piece.
Took out my drivers seat to check fit and new seat needed to recline forward a bit.
Since the seats were electronic controlled, took it out onto the workbench to figure out how to recline it.
Three sets of wires coming out the bottom of the seat.
Hooked up my test battery to one set and nothing.Must be the heating element.
Hooked up to another set and BOOM!!!
Side air bag in seat!!
Blew out the side of the seat, right along the stiching. Scared the hell out of me.
Did not even think about air bags in the seats.
At least I know now what wires go to the motor to recline the seat.
also has heated option. Will mess with that later.Any ideas??
Will have to fab up a couple brakets, but they should work good.
Just need to un-skin the seat and re-stitch it.
That was my excitement for the day.
