The funny thing is our favorite gas cans were invented by the enemy. The US gas cans in WWII were known as "flimsies" because they were made of thin metal and tended to spring leaks easily. The "jerries" aka krauts had a way sturdier design and whenever the yanks could get hold of some, they'd use the jerry's cans. Maybe somebody still has a "flimsy" somewhere in a museum, but I've never seen one. I've got nothing against plastic gas cans, but these leaky "low-emission" ones are ridiculous. I've accumulated quite a bunch of jerry cans over the years but am way short on "donkey dick" spouts, so I think I'll order up some from imsplus.com while they're still available. None of the stores seem to carry them any more.
