I bleeve the proper one is a MU. And the 1/2t winch model had longer frame rails to suit, not like the 3/4 and 1t, which used winch extensions that bolted to the frame. The 1/2t with MU also had a hole burned in the front cross member to suit the drive shaft.

So, I'm wondering if an MU-2 would fit better? What with the back end lowered by angling the winch.

That all said, I did shoe-horn an MU-5 from a Burma Jeep (Ford 1 1/4t) into a 1/2t by sliding the right side inside the frame 'c' channel, allowing for lower mounting, letting the drive shaft pass under the cross member. More U-joints and a center bearing would have allowed the drive shaft to rout up higher over the axle. As it had a tube-type shaft from a car, it got bent first time I bottomed out the front suspension. Kept working though.

The MU-5 had a 14" diameter spool instead of the MU-2 and -0 that have 10" spools, but I think the same gears.

Sorry, no pics. The Sony Mavica ate them years ago.
