The M615 was an export ambulance made for countries we help support militarily. It is based on the postwar 1-ton Power Wagon. It is narrower than the WWII ambulances and the M43, but is longer and taller. It used a 12v electrical system, as opposed to the 24v of the M43. Mechanically, it is the same as the M601 Weapons Carrier, the "open cab" Power Wagon that you've probably seen.

I have found no evidence the Army nor Air Force bought any. But the US Navy purchased some. How many, I don't know.
