Mine was very rich and flood prone after the carb rebuild. It would flood badly when I let off the gas also.
Seems the latest rebuild kits have a different needle and seat that requires a float level setting much lower than the factory setting.
Drop it a bit and and drive it. Then lower it more. Lower it till that flood when letting off the gas almost disappears.
I think you'll find it will be the fix.
