C. Garbee had Advance Adapters make 2 Rangers set up for GM in front, NP420 M37 style in back. I think if you got a GM configured Ranger (with later 5.125" input bearing retainer), removed the PW bellhousingm, milled the hole out to 5.125", tapped new mounting holes to match the GM pattern, used an extended pilot bushing, and got a proper clutch disk with a 1-1/8" 10 spline hub, and were willing to bolt a SM420 early GM 4spd (only 10.5" long, synchro in 2-3-4, ratios 7.05, 3.58,1.70,1.00), then found one of the creative driveline places in S. Calif to make a driveshaft 8" shorter (they can make them as short as 5" U-joint center-to-center!!) with minimal travel, the whole thing would PROBABLY work. You'd have final gearing of 4.26 in OD 4th with 5.83s. With 36" tires that'd be 2450 rpm @ 60 mph. Don't forget the front disk brakes.
