I have heard lots of pros & cons of each type. The main points of seal life are:1. If installing a leather seal, soak it in neatsfoof oil overnight before installation. Leather seals dry out on tne shelf and must be soft and flexable to work properly. 2. The surface running on the seal lip must be clean and VERY smooth. IE. a new seal with a rough yoke surface will soon leak. 3. Be careful when installing new seals not to damage them by pounding too hard on them during installation or cuttuin the lip with an axle spline. In summary, I have had good luck with both types when carefully installed. Regards, Todd
