I own a 98 2500 4x4 diesel, bought it new.
Get the auxiliary springs and sway bar, inexpensive options. Anti-spin is a must, get ready to chew up your rear tires. I suppose you are not getting an SLT, but the price you are getting is good.
These trucks ride rough when unloaded and/or off road as they are nose heavy and heavily sprung in the rear. They are built to pull something, so when loaded they ride level and pull a trailer and Power Wagon as fast you care to go. MPG 18-19 unloaded.
Many folks think my truck is lifted because of its ride height, so getting stuff in and out of the bed from the side is a pain.
They are great trucks, due to the fire breathing
6BT Cummins.
