Help! 318 pulley madness!

I picked up a '72 318 from a Dart. It had air conditioning, so the pulleys did me little good.

I went up and took the pulleys off another early 70's 318. Only an alternator and power steering.

Now comes the frustration. The @#$% pulleys won't fit my 318. First, the water pump pulley and crank pully hit each other. They are too big in diameter. Then the grooves don't line up. Then the six bolts that hold the lower pulley in place don't line up either. One bolt is off half a hole with the new pulley.

I've tried all the parts in combination too. I can line up the alternator, original A/C crank pulley and small water pump pulley. But now there is no where for the power steering belt to go.

The wrecking yard is well over an hour round trip for driving alone. I'm getting tired of going back and forth to make this work. I'm about to load the engine up and go up and fit it there.

I don't understand how the pulleys could come off one 318 yet overlap diameters on mine. Could it be they came off a 360? Is the water pump centerline and the crank centerline the same distance apart on a 318 and 360?

I know Ford V-8's inside and out, but I am totally clueless on smallblock Dodges.
