Let's just hope this is another case where we can be thankful we're not getting all the government we pay for. It sounds like the intent of it is that if
you got and scored something that sneaked out of the DRMO without being demilled, they can come and make you scrap it. But what if they use (361)f to come back
and redefine things that were originally sold subject to the munitions list, but didn't have to be demilled at the time, like the M35A2s they're currently
selling, or the gama goats and M151s they used to sell before they started requiring them to be destroyed? Maybe they'll never find the US 1911 or German P38
sidearm your dad kept as a souvinier of the "big war", but they could track all our vehicles through DMV records. Unless of course it was originally sold as
demilled scrap with no form 97. They might as well shut down the DRMOs anyway; with all the good stuff getting appropriated for "drug interdiction" and most
of the rest going to the Levy-Latham shysters all that's left is old furniture and clothes. If nothing else this is just one more little way the feds can give
you grief when you start embarrasing the wrong people. I can't imagine they'd ever make some old duffer take a torch to his Jeep, but if they did I'll bet it
wouldn't even make the news. On the other hand if the old duffer was sitting on the porch of his trailer holding his squirrel-gun, the pretty talking heads
would be breathlessly reporting on the "suspected milita leader holed up on his compound with an assault rifle."

The only thing that stands between us and a total police state is a fat and inefficient bureaucracy and I think really a pretty good defense against this kind
of foolishness. On the other hand I guess we can collect all the enemy "munitions" we want.
