They come as coarse or fine spline, that appears to be fine spline, so it is from a 1/2, 3/4, or 1 ton (2wd).
Also, the term short and long may apply to the rear output shaft, this appears to be a later model that would be used with a married t-case and require a longer tailshaft than a stand alone NP435.
