There was another trolley of the same model available at the time, but with a different engine (Cummins, I believe). After the comments here, I wanted to buy that one, but by the time we got around to approving the purchase, the broker told us the other one was sold. Guess what? It's not sold. He still has it listed. Not sure if he just thought he had it sold and the buyer honestly backed out, or he wanted to make sure he closed the deal with us knowing the faults with this one and preferring to sell it to somebody who didn't inspect it in person. It would have been nice to have been able to check them both out.

I've been dinking with it and suddenly most of the electrical stuff started working. Still haven't found the bad connection, but there must be one somewhere. The oil leak can just keep leaking. We're sure not going to pull the power pack just to change a seal. I put a bottle of seal-fixer in the oil. Don't expect much but it's an easy experiment. I agree about the heater core. If it's not too hard to get out, I could probably solder it up myself.

The trucker said there's a 90-day "lemon law" on all business purchases in New York. That seems unlikely to me, but we'll call the AG and see if there is. If so, it'll be some leverage to get them to do something for us.

Okay, I'm back at it -- trying to untangle the mickey-mouse wiring and see why everything (except the panel lights) suddenly started working.

Oh, and did I mention the exhaust stinks?
