I dont think there is a shortage of oil. The big companies simply are not refining as much oil as they could. As stated in my other message there are refineries that are closed in Kansas. Sure maybe the government wont allow them to build a new refinery but the oil company wouldnt do that anyways. Thats just another excuse for you to believe. The supply and demand theory only works in the energy business. Any other company in the world would go broke if they operated like Exxon or the others do.

Myself as an example...my fuel consumption has went way down in the last 4-6 years. I'm driving the little 4 cyl. cars around every day instead of my V8 Dodges. My field mowing business has all but died. 2 reasons there......people dont have extra money to mow pastures and fields they once had and I have to charge more to cover fuel costs as they have went up 400% from when I started in the 2002 or so. Take the scenario and put it on food prices or other things and its not hard to figure out why the economy is in the tank and this country is on its way to grinding to a halt.

Now that oil is a commodity being traded on Wall Street there is no more competition to keep the prices fair. No more oil companies competing for your business.

Affordable energy will make this country go and grow like crazy.
