the running gears on the late model dodges and chevs are almost the same. dana axles, 205 tcase. only differe is engine and trans, brakes vary a bit. I would personaly prefer the 440 with 727 over a 454 for a truck. both great engines but the 440 will last longer usually and will not have the exhaust manifold problems the chevys have when used in RVs or pulling. I serviced both systems for years on trucks and motorhomes and the big block chevs eat up exhaust manifolds big time. a 440 will go 50 to 75 K minimum without an exhaust leak. lots of 440s for sale right now with the price of fuel so high. sometimes free!
