Hi Dana,
I originally ran a beefed up Saginaw PS pump from AGR, but had 3 pump failures in a short period and switched to an actual hydraulic pump. The pump is more powerful than a power steering pump, and this set-up has worked for others, using a standard power steering pump.
I hope your hydraulic system has more trial than error, but that seems to be the nature of these mongrel systems we conjure up.
