It is quieter. The Ford trucks of that vintage were better trucks than the Dodges (Dodge didn't have a crew cab then) so that's why I went with Ford.

Do not buy a used truck with a chip or any other performance mod - period. Because, guess what they have been doing with it? I bought my truck used from an accountant in San Antonio who used it occasionally to haul things home from Home Depot, and he was selling it because it didn't fit in the parking garage at his new office. Now *that's* the guy to buy a used truck from!
