No, that's fine, the closed knuckles are desired by guys that run in mud and wet conditions. I was torn on mine whether to keep it stock or make it stop....= )
My truck has a history of severe brake fade, the last time was coming into Ouray Colorado with no brakes and out of gears (the NP435 has no syncros in 1st and second so I was out of E-brake and nearly out of options...ha! ha!) so I went with disc brakes and it's never stopped better!
Heck if you live east of the Rockies, you don't even need brakes....= )
