Actually, the math is not quite correct, but you're generally correct, you can buy a lot of fuel for what ANY engine conversion costs.
Watch for diesel to come down and gasoline to continue to climb in the long term.
Diesel motors provide about 30-50% better fuel economy, 50-100% more torque than comparable gas motors. They last three to five times as long before overhaul and run cleaner than gas.
When you add bio-diesel to the mix, the price of fuel can be as low as free, (plus the highway tax), if using SVO fuels.
