....I sold my diesel in 2006.
I miss it but I prefer the pre 1998.5 Dodge Cummins trucks.
Way better engine, way more reliable & way less complication & fuel wasting gagetry.
The Dodge Cummins trucks started out in 1989 as phenomenal trucks...they'll go down in history much like our PW's.
Up until 1998.5 they got better & better...then came the 24 valve & they've gone downhill slightly every year since then.
I fear if Dodge switches to a V6 Cummins as is rumored...it may be the end of an era as well.
Don't get me wrong...all the Dodge/Cummins trucks are good....just not as big of an edge anymore as they had prior to the switch to electronics.
I understand why they are changing...I just wish the government would put the emphasis on fuel economy instead of the other political roadblocks.
If Dodge could build a diesel 4x4 in 1989 that got 20mpg...is it that outrageous to expect 30mpg 20 years later? why are we happy with 15mpg now?
