Norm, I know these engines very well but am open to others experiances or opinions. Specificaly if anyone has had experiance putting one in a power wagon. I have tons of parts for these engines as well as a few bare blocks. They weigh about 800 lbs, get great mileage due to the pre-combustion chambers, produce 190 hp w/ a turbo, compatible w/ all gm trannies (came mated to the nv4500 in thousands of trucks), used for more than a decade by the US military.....
One of the 6.5 turbos I have reaches almost 300 hp. I help out a friend with his truck from time to time and he has a 295,000 mile 6.2 litre that acts like it has another 100,000 to go.
This all being said I am a fan of Cummins, but have had no experiance with the smaller 6BT and 4BT engines. My smallest diesel has 2.25 inch bores, my largest has 13 inch bores with the pistons weighing in at 300 lbs a piece. I am a fan of all compression ignition engines.
