A well equiped shop needs both, there isn't much crossover. I built a Piper Super cub that needed extensive welding on the fuslage and had to do it all with gas welding because of Fed aviation regs. Good practice for tig welding and worked good so don't over look some of the old ways in your qwest to get the right stuff.
