I had the shaft cut to length at on on local shop, cost me $1.00.
Hint: be sure not to make it too long or you can't get it installed, has to have enough play within the yokes to slide it back and slip it in the yoke on the other end. Mine fit, but barely, and could be on on 1/2" shorter and still be long enough.
