Theres just barely room to drill a hole for a piece of line, then solder it in.

Then you'll have to flex the float wire to get everything back through the hole in the tank. You want the bottom end close to the back of the tank.

Mine gauge system doesn't work, noting for me to lose. Next thing to do on the truck is fix it. I did repair a sender once, on a '41 1/2t panel. I simply disassebled it, found that the ni-chrome wire had broken close to one end, and and so I rewound the remaining wire a bit shorter.
