yes they did(warrenty) as i remember the 534s well we ran them out of a quarry coming out of the deep quarry roads round and round for miles till they got to the top, low, low all the way, hard on fuel most trucks had to refuel at 10 o clock and again at 2 to round out the day the 477 was about the same , long grades killed them we used a 5 main transmission and a 4 speed auxillary plenty of shiffting !!!the 477 was a shorter stroke by about 3/8 .rear axle ratios were in the 5.33 range and gvw was 54000 lbs at the scale the warrenty was pro rated 2 years and then 50 /50 and so on down the line. the other trucks that had 238 detroits doubled the fuel milage over 2 to 1 of the super duty and pulled like the devel if you kept them at the govenor all day. and the detroit averaged 4 mpg .when unleaded gas came into play it was the finnish of the gassers . valves were a issuse and so was main bearings subject to lugging ,driver error and high oil consumption was a biggie but when the macks came around the d dm with their in line six maxidyne engine, look out the gravel bussiness took on a new look and fuel was in the 6 mpg and would see 300 000 before a inframe and all they had was a 6 speed trans
