I used 13/32" inch red oak. Ya know, the stuff called 1" that most people think is 3/4, but it is really supposed to be 13/32.

Mar-K had the side rails, called 'angle strips'. They come as three pieces per side. Different combos of the three for each series of beds. Plus early/late second series. Length of bed sides,since each series is different, and number of boards total- 6or7or8?
