Cant tell you about the cat but the 427 will have exhaust manifold problems galore in that kind of service. leaking and cracking. they came out with a header system from the dealer and those melted as well. In gas powered rigs that size the Dodges were the best, ford second. I did manifold work for many years and I would shy away from that set up.
