My father's 85 Peterbuilt Dump has a 3206. It's at 320K and never once had even a minor engine glitch. The truck service center guys when dad bought in new recommended leaving it on a high idle while loading to avoid sooting up the engine. So most days once its started it stays running. Starting and stopping is the hardest thing you can do to an engine, regardless if gas or diesel(even harder on a turbocharger). It always takes a second to get that oil film between the bearings and the rotating components. A gas powered bus probably more pleasurable to ride in for most tourists. Gas engine is quieter, so you can hear the tour guide. Exhaust smells better to most people(sorry Paul). This equates to a happier and possibly repeat customer!
