Finally took delivery of my Power Wagon

What a bloody adventure it was, but I finally have by green 48 Power Wagon safely stowed away in a nice dry garage until I can register it in Canada before the big move to Denman Island.
I was to pick up the truck in mid January, but the weather has been so atrocious, not much has been moving over the Snoqualmie Pass until just last Monday. I caught a ride with one of my drivers who was making a delivery to Pasco,Wa. We left Sunday evening and arrived in Pasco about 0700 hrs. We caught a couple of hours shut eye before unloading at 1000 hrs. After a quick breakfast we headed west to the small town of Cle Elum where my little beast was waiting for me (Jonas Smith had parked it by a loading ramp the night before). As we pulled into the parking lot I noticed her parked up against a snow bank. I must have been star struck because at this point I lost all my senses. I opened the door of the Freightliner and stepped straight into thin air. Next thing I remember is bouncing of the solid icy cold ground. I was one hurt unit. It took me all my effort to get onto all fours before even trying to stand up. It took alot of shallow breathing to fill my lungs back up with air. I could tell by all the movement in my right side that I had done some pretty major damage. Now it was up to Chad to drive the old Power Wagon into the container, I could no longer move my right arm.
The sooner we got her into the into the container the sooner I could get back to Canada and into the emergency ward. Chad wanted to take me to a local hospital, but there was no way I could afford that. I would just have to suffer the 6 hour ride home to the free system. Talk about painful, I was beginning to wonder whether this was all worthwhile or not. We finally made it to the border where we parked the load for the night. Somehow I had to muster the energy to clear the load in the morning. A quick check in with emergency affirmed my ribs were in one piece, but all my muscle and cartiledge had been torn away so my ribs were kind of free wheeling for now.
I mustered enough moxee to clear the load the next day, but I didn't have enough left in me to unload the container. Dave Lane who has helped me in the past offered to unload the container on Thursday and to drive the old girl back to my place.
To make a long story short, I am as happy as a pig in shit and the wife had one look at her and thought I was out of my mind. All she could see was an old truck that looked like it had seen better days.
Next stop Denman Island and the farm life.
