I too hook up my electric fans both with a manual and thermostat. I also have a small pilot light in the cab that comes on with the fan. Its powered directly from the fan 12 volt terminal. This way I know the fan gets power when the T Stat calls for it to turn on. Dont know the fan is spinning, but I know its got power.
