I have an electric fan on my 318 powered Power Wagon. I switch it on and off manually. When I start the truck I watch the temp gauge and when it gets over 100 I turn on the fan. The temp will rise to 165 and be stable there. I drove it yesterday before the storm hit to the next town from here. About 1/2 way there the temp started to rise. By the time I got to my destination the temp was up around 220. I stopped and could hear that the fan wasnt running. I opened the hood, checked the fuse and found it blown. I replaced the fuse, the fan came right on and cycled on and off until the coolant had cooled down. All the way home it stayed right at 160. So, I dispute the claim that you dont need a fan while moving.
