John mentions 22 bolts required for a full set. The manuals show that 18 are required for a civilian truck. My '47 WDX and '51 B3PW each have 19 total to hold the left and right plates. We may be talking about different bolts.

Both the 1946 Power Wagon Preliminary Parts List #D-11091 and the 1948 Power Wagon Parts List #D-12004, list: Bolt, hex-hd., S., cd-pltd., 5/16-24 x 3/4 in, part number 120 741. Clearly these are hex head cap screws as indicated by the description “hex-hd”. The contradictory images showing slotted head screws first appeared in the D-11091 parts list and continued in use for several years thereafter. Nowhere in the early parts manuals are washers indicated for use in attaching these floor plates, though washers are shown in the images. If the washers were indeed integral to the screws, it would make sense that they were not called out in the parts lists separately from the assembly.

These screws are not indicated as being new, by which one can conclude that they were existing parts used elsewhere. Verification for this conclusion can be found in the 1946 Standard Parts List where we also find under heading “BOLT-Hexagon Head” - part type code 18-06-51, listing: 5/16-24 NF, ¾ LGH., Cd-Pltd, part number 120 741. In the Power-Wagon specific parts lists these screws are found under Part Type Code 23-04-3. The very low number of these screws seems to indicate that these parts had been in existence for some time.

These parts changed in the 1951 Dodge Power-Wagon Parts List #D-13864. They are now found under Part Type Code 23-04-17, and listed as: SCREW, Front Floor Plate Fastening, w/Washer (23-04-107), part number 1095 367. No quantity is listed for these parts but they are indicated as being a new number not previously listed in any previous parts books, and the washer is implied as being integral to the screw. There is also no mention of material type, plating, dimensions, or screw head type.
